Truro School Girls-U14A vs  Penryn College
On: Tuesday, 26 Feb 2019
Venue: Away

The girls were excited to play in the next round of the girls football county cup against Penryn, after only starting football this year and with limited training time we had no expectations. The main focus was for the girls to have fun, enjoy it, focusing and developing a few simple football principles. Penryn were a strong team with a number of county players but our girls went out and gave them a good run for their money, committing to every ball, moving the ball quickly to release our forwards to get in behind the defence to give us any opportunity of scoring. We worked hard, attempting to win every 50/50 ball, going in physical, determined to come out with the ball. Penryn were skilful and played some lovely passages of play but Truro Schools work rate was fantastic, holding them out as much as possible. Being 3-0 down our girls definitely deserved to get one goal. With a free kick awarded just outside the box and with only a couple of minutes to go, Fabby stood up for a chance to gain a goal and what a fantastic finish it was, cracking shot! Despite the score the girls enjoyed playing and had a lot of fun, which is what the aim of the day was! Well Done Girls!
