Truro School Girls-U14A vs  Penair School
On: Tuesday, 22 Jan 2019
Venue: Away

After a couple of training sessions together the U14 Girls were ready to take on there first game against Penair in the County Cup. The game got under way, it was end to end stuff with very positive play from Truro School, after the players settled the girls started playing some lovely team football, linking many passes together, they had a number of opportunities but didn't take enough risks. Penair got in front of the goal and took the one opportunity they had and scored. We began the second half and after a brief chat at half time the girls were keen to come out and equalise. Straight after the break, the girls made a quick swift break, took the risk and got the goal, 1-1. The game from then on was extremely close and could of gone either way. The game ended 1-1. With time ticking on we got straight into extra time, golden goal, however the game was still stuck at 1-1. Time for a penalty shootout, this is no way a team wants to go out but we had to reach a winner! We had 5 penalties each and it ended 3-3, the only way we were going to separate these teams was sudden death shootout, with a great save from Lexie Craze, tipped over the bar, Meila Fabby had one thing to do, get the ball in the back of the net, and so she did, very calm and composed. Truro School won on sudden death penalty strokes and were into the next round of the cup, either to face Penryn or Redruth. It was a great game to watch and the girls throughly enjoyed it. Well Done Girls, great achievement!
