Match Report
Truro School Boys-U13 vs  Blundell's School
On: Thursday, 17 Jan 2019
Venue: Away

The U13 boys hockey team travelled to Blundells to play in the National Cup. We started off on the defensive foot, inviting Blundells into our 'D', they had one play maker who ran the show but fortunate for us missed a number of opportunities on goal. After about 10 minutes we started to settle rather than just hitting and hoping when we gained possession of the ball. We played some fabulous hockey where we created chances in the attacking 'D' but was extremely unfortunate not to get them in the back of the net. What went in our favour was we were extremely quick on the break and caught them off guard a number of times and the shots we had were very lucky not to come off. Going into the second half with everything play for the boys were ready. They came out strong and powerful, piling the pressure on from the start. We had a number of opportunities and definately were the winning team in this half.. with only 4 minutes to go, Blundells played a route one ball right from the back which managed to get through to a player in our defending 'D' who was alone and only the keeper to beat. The player attempted to stop the ball but completely missed it but managed to make the smallest of touches which somehow travelled in and hit our backboard, giving our keeper no chance. 1-0 down and 3 and half minutes left the boys gave 110%, with a final chance a shot was nearly missed travelling just over the crossbar, it was extremely unfortunate. The game ended 1-0 to Blundells. Our boys worked extremely hard, never gave up, the game was physical and the boys stood up and battled for everything. The boys never lost there heads, the team worked together extremely well and the game could of gone either way but unfortunately we were on the other end of a win. Well Done Boys!
