Match Report
Truro School Boys-U15/14 vs  Mount Kelly
On: Saturday, 12 Jan 2019
Venue: Away

The team started off in high spirits, ready for one of their first games of the season. It was also one of the first time that they had played together as the triangular was a combination of both the u14 and u15 sides. In addition to this, for some it would have been their first experience of a full 11-a-side game. Having coached both teams when they were playing 7-a-side, I was impressed by how much they had all improved. Mount Kelly proved to be strong opposition. While they took a lot of control of the ball to begin with, our team did not give up, fighting back with some a much greater possession of the ball in the second half. Our goalie in particular made some outstanding super-man style saves. Two quick 15 minute halves later and the game was over, with two goals that were, unfortunately, conceded. However, the team got together straight away and reflected on the play at hand. Each individual was keen to pick up on what they could do to improve as a team and were not defeatist. The resilience that they have each developed was clear and set them up ready to fight in the next match.
