Match Report
Truro School Girls-U13 vs  Hockey Festival
On: Tuesday, 20 Nov 2018
Venue: Away

The girls were pooled with Penair B, Redruth and Richard Lander in the initial stages and kicked off the tournament in impressive style beating Penair B 4-0 in their first match. The team captained by Libby showed some great attacking play in their first game and piled on the pressure with short corners coming thick and fast. Their second match was against Redruth and despite the 0-0 score at half time another 4-0 final whistle result followed. After two matches in succession the girls suffered from the half an hour break in the icy cold conditions and were a little slow to get started in their final pooled game against Richard Lander. A quiet first half with just the one goal keeping the girls above water was then followed by a high energy and well contested second half where both teams were pushing back and looking to capitalise on the break. Luckily no further goals followed and the team went through to the 1st and 2nd place playoff against Penair A; the winners of the other pool.

The final, against our closest state rivals was to be exciting and end to end with both teams playing some great hockey! There really was nothing between the two teams and the final result 0-0 was a fair reflection on this occasion.

The girls were delighted to come away as joint winners and with a clean sheet.
