On: Saturday, 24 Nov 2018
Venue: Away

A hugely busy weekend for our fencers this week with Roman in France, an Under 14 international in Bucharest and an LPJS nearer to home.

Starting off at Millfiled for the youth league circuit event, the LPJS. We had a team of U13 Girls in action in the Sabre, and we were thrilled with both girls who stormed through the early rounds with composure and discipline with Lexie Craze taking gold and Aimee Whitelegg clinching the silver.
Onto Tarbes, France for the sabre d’or, the French National qualifier for internationals for Roman Norris. He continued his run of good form in a field of over 150 fencers with an excellent 30th place finish. This means he has qualified for Eurosabre circuit event in Meylan in January.

At the Riposta Cup in Bucharest, Romania, Amari Lawal fenced well all day gaining in experience and confidence. He finished in the top 32. Sam Cox and Henry Martin stormed through the draw fencing with patience and clarity of thought to dispatch all before them. Sam took a commendable quarter final place with Henry taking an impressive bronze, an excellent international podium finish for this young athlete.
