Over this weekend our fencers continued on their quest to gain national ranking points before the first international selections are made and this time we ventured to London for the Under 17 and Under 20 British Ranking Event. On the Saturday in the U17 Boys’ sabre, Max Cromie continued his run of form with back to back podiums securing another well-earned bronze. Darcy Holdsworth followed fast on his heels with a solid 6th place, Jack Wong finished in 12th with Henry Martin in 21st and Amari Lawal 36th.

On the Sunday our senior girls were in action in the U20 women’s sabre event. Maia Fashokun stormed to victory with a fine display of form, putting her pre-season work into good practice. Molly Wood secured an excellent bronze place, losing to Maia in the semis and Hannah O’Reilly finished in 7th. In U20 men’s sabre event Luke Haynes finished with an outstanding bronze place, demonstrating calm and composure throughout the day. Darcy Holdsworth built on his efforts from the previous day with another quarter final finishing in 6th. Max Cromie came in at 29th with Jack Wong in 30th.
