Match Report
Truro School Girls-U15 vs  West Buckland School
On: Saturday, 08 Dec 2018
Venue: at Home

Whilst we anticipated being on the front foot having had a game off, the cold seemed to have set in during the break and the girls took a bit of time to get going in their second match of the triangular fixture. West Buckland coming fresh from a draw against Mount Kelly capitalised on this 'warm up period' and quickly pulled themselves away with a two goal lead. With calls from the side line to play a simple passing game that utilised the whole width of the pitch the girls seemed to grow with confidence as the match progressed and pulled one back just before the half time whistle. The goal was superbly worked with a great layout to Evelyn who looked up at the keeper to ensure she placed the ball well out of her reach. Eager to not let the positive feeling subside and after a quick water break the girls regrouped and set themsleves up as if telling West Buckland that they were ready for them after half time. The girls played a superb last twenty minutes, they worked hard both on and off the ball, showed better movement and were versatile filling in for injuries as they cropped up. With short corners not seeming to our way today, and with plenty of them to practice and learn from, it was great to finally score from one when Mille Y sstrike the ball hard and beat the keeper. There was another goal for each side still to come and it was Issy that made her way onto the score sheet for Truro. The game ended 3-3, a fair reflection but I know the girls will be kicking themsleves for not playng to their best in the first 15 minutes of teh first half; this is where the damage was done. Players player, as voted by the opposition was Grace in goal!
